WHY SHOULD YOU CONTRIBUTE TO THE MISSION FARMING

Farming is the oldest art of growing food in plenty for all to enjoy. Farming is the most researched subject by various agencies worldwide to improve the methods to be used in farming like: Traditional farming using cattle’s manure, Modern Farming using chemical fertilizers, Organic Farming using cattle’s manure/compost fertilizers, and the latest being Natural Farming where the soil is to be made chemicals free and not using any modern technologies.

However, the most serious issue remained unattended or very little is done to sustain farming itself, when the younger and educated farmers worldwide are leaving farming and prefer working in the cities. The younger farmers find farming a loss-making profession when farm laborers are becoming expensive and not available even by paying high daily wages. They also find uncertainty in farming due to scarcity of water availability for irrigation and farming is largely dependent on monsoon, but irregularities of monsoon make the matters worst.

Let’s start thinking on a larger canvas:

1. Farmers grow variety of crops in their farms and we eat food without even thinking how hard it is for farmers to sustain farming in present times with scarcity of water and expensive farm laborers. This resulted in either farmers committing suicides or Rural Migration to the cities leaving farming.

2. In foreseeable future, there may not be any farmers left to carry out farming. As a result, we may not have meals in our plates even by paying a bagful of money.

3. Before time runs out, farming needs to be revived effectively through “Mass Movement” for inspiring younger farmers to adopt farming for their vibrant career and profession in their own villages rather than migrating to the cities searching jobs.

4. "Mission Farming" is aimed at generating such “Mass Movement” and is working selflessly for the noble cause to secure food for us and also for the future generations to come.
