Farming is an art and not a business.
Businesses have ups and downs while art has only ups.
Unfortunately, farming is equated with business in present days.
Govt. policies are helping farmers and not farming which turned artists in farmers into businessmen.
No doubt, why farmers are compelled to use increasing amounts of inorganic (chemical) fertilizers to get higher crops yields and to use increasing amounts of varieties of pesticides to combat crops disease of unending types. Pesticides are sprayed on soil even before planting seeds to minimize growth of weeds in a hope to reduce labour intensive weeding subsequently.
Recently, organic vegetables and food stuffs are fetching premium in market because consumers feel that these stuffs are healthier. Therefore, farmers started growing crops and vegetables using organic manure instead of inorganic (chemical) fertilisers to get premium on farm produce, never mind using increasing amounts of varieties of pesticides to combat crops disease of unending types. As a result, this has set in a cycle to produce unhealthy food in reality apart from making farming more and more labour intensive and not really profitable or not increasing farmers’ income.
In overall effects, younger farmers are leaving farming in favour of working in cities.
SCAIE had developed Holistic Farming with Regenerative & Biological systems using inorganic (chemical) fertilisers and micronutrients but without using any types of pesticides to grow healthier crops of much higher yields. Also, Holistic Farming is bullocks-free, labour-free and consuming only 3% of irrigation water as compared to traditional farming or lesser dependent on irregularities of monsoon.
In overall effects, farming is made easy, enjoyable and highly rewarding business as well that suits younger farmer to adopt it as a vibrant career as an artist, as a scientist and also as a businessman.
Better to eat healthier food grown pesticides free rather than paying premium on so-called healthier organic food.
