These गणगौर idols were crafted by my father (दादा) and it's now 100+ years old and still considered the greatest wooden art works and every year it is worshipped and taken in a procession citywide of Alirajpur in MP. 🙏🙏

Gangaur (गणगौर) is a festival celebrated in the Indian state of Rajasthan and some parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and West Bengal.

Gangaur is colourful and one of the most important festivals of Rajasthan and is observed throughout the state with great fervour and devotion by womenfolk who worship Goddess Parvati (Gauri) during March–April. It is the celebration of spring, harvest, marital fidelity, and childbearing.

Gana is a synonym for Lord Shiva and Gaur which stands for Gauri who symbolizes सौभाग्य (marital bliss). The unmarried women worship her for being blessed with a good husband, while married women do so for the welfare, health, and long life of their husbands and happy married life.
